Timmins 5-Year Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan
The Corporation of the City of Timmins has developed a comprehensive 5-Year Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan. Our Energy Conservation and Demand Energy Management (CDM) Plan was undertaken to respond to the Green Energy Act. Ontario Regulation 397/11 made under the Green Energy Act, 2009 and published on August 25, 2011, requires all public agencies to prepare an Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan (“the CDM Plan”).
This CDM Plan fulfils the reporting requirements of the Green Energy Act, providing the City of Timmins with a framework to support continued energy and sustainability initiatives within the built environment as well as operations and programs.
The Plan further identifies opportunities for continued energy conservation measures and sustainability initiatives to build on existing plans and conservation efforts. Implementation of all initiatives will be subject to future budget approvals.
Our Energy Conservation and Demand Energy Management Plan has been developed to address the fiscal, societal, and environmental costs and risks associated with energy consumption. Proper energy management will allow the City of Timmins to display leadership, improve the delivery of services, and enhance the overall quality of life within the City.
