The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the senior appointed official for the City of Timmins, providing organizational leadership to all municipal staff.

The Chief Administrative Officer has the responsibility of coordinating the work of all municipal departments and ensuring that those departments carry out policies and directions given by Mayor and Council. The CAO’s position acts as the principal advisor to Council in the development of public policy, including ensuring that Council is provided with all relevant information necessary to make informed decisions.

The Chief Administrative Officer oversees day-to-day operations for the City through nine (9) Department Heads and coordinates the administrative interaction with various operating agencies such as Police Services, the Public Library, Timmins Economic Development Corporation and the Mattagami Region Conservation Authority.

The CAO’s office has an Administrative Assistant who fulfills the administrative direction as assigned by the Chief Administrative Officer, and performs the various secretarial functions for this office.

As the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Timmins, I would like to welcome you to the City of Timmins’ interactive website. The site includes a wide array of information from Council agendas, minutes, by-laws, City departmental services, as well as business, tourism and community events information.  We hope that you will bookmark the City’s website and visit it often, as new information and events will be added regularly.

The City of Timmins has embarked on a four-year 100th Anniversary celebration beginning in 2009, and culminating in the year 2012.  We have recently seen complete success with the Summer Concert Series held at the Hollinger park on Wednesday evenings during the summer. The Great Canadian Kayak Challenge has grown to become a 2-day signature event for the City of Timmins. Make plans to attend these great summer events! Make sure to visit the official Anniversary website at www.timmins100.ca for a complete list of anniversary events.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact me via email at cao@timmins.ca, or by phone at (705) 360-2601. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance the online experience for visitors and enable you to access information about City services quickly and easily.
