FLAGS WILL BE LOWERED FOR POLICE AND PEACE OFFICERS’ NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY

September 28, 2018 – The flags at Timmins City Hall and other municipal buildings will be flying at half-mast in honour of Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day on Sunday, September 30.

Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day has been recognized on the last Sunday in September every year, since being officially proclaimed by the Government of Canada in 1998.

According to the memorial.ca “This National Memorial Day gives Canadians an opportunity each year to formally express appreciation for the dedication of police and peace officers, which made the ultimate tragic sacrifice to keep our communities safe.”
