NOTICE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT, FILE NO. Z-2018-01

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Timmins will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City of Timmins, 220 Algonquin Boulevard East, Timmins, Ontario, to gather public input regarding a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O 1990, c. P. 13, as amended.

Location:         Part of Mining Claim P12471 and P27471 and Registered Plan 6R5018, Part 1, Parcel 22820SEC, Township of Robb, City of Timmins (8875 8955 Kamiskotia Road)

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone a portion of the subject lands currently zoned Rural (RD-RU) to Waterfront Neighbourhood (RD-WN) and Waterfront Neighbourhood (RD-WN) SP6.166.  A portion of the subject lands were the subject of an application under the Planning Act, R.S.O 1990, c. P. 13 for a consent, File No. B-08-18, which was approved the City of Timmins Committee of Adjustment on May 8, 2018.  The intent of this application was to create two new lots.  For one of the newly created lots, the applicant is also seeking relief from the City of Timmins Zoning By-law 2011-7100 with regards to a special provision for a reduction in minimum front yard setback requirements.

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment.

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Council of the City of Timmins to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Timmins before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the City of Timmins before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

The subject land was the subject of an application under the Planning Act, R.S.O 1990, c. P. 13 for a consent, File No. B-08-18, which was approved the City of Timmins Committee of Adjustment on May 8, 2018.
