August 4th, 2018, a water break has occurred on Theriault Boulevard to the south of the traffic lights at Jubilee Avenue West and Theriault Boulevard.

WHAT HAPPENED: A water main break occurred evening of August 4th, 2018 on Theriault Boulevard to the south of the traffic lights at Jubilee Avenue West and Theriault Boulevard.

WHO IS AFFECTED:  No customers are affected.    

REPAIR PLAN:

  1. As no customer are affected on this section of water line, repairs will start on Tuesday August 7th, 2018. It is estimated that the section of road will remain closed until at least end of August 10th, 2018. Further update will take place. .

WATER QUALITY: For users who still have water but notice discolouration in the water, please let your water run until the water becomes clear. Discolouration is the result of the occurrence of the break and/or the shutting of water main shut off valves.  Once the water is restored to Customers, please let your water run until the water becomes clear.

TRAFFIC PATERN:

  1. Theriault Boulevard is closed between the North side of the traffic intersection lights at the Archie Dillon arena and up to Jubilee Avenue West. This section of the road will remain closed until at least end of August 16th, 2018.
  2. Presently, there is access to the Archie Dillon Sportsplex, Theriault High School, and College Boreal.

 

UPDATE: August 9th.

The water valve for this main failed when the water was to be turned back on and further repairs are currently  taking  place at the intersection of Theriault and Jubilee.

Do to the damage caused by this water break and valve failure Theriault will remain closed until paving crews can mobilize.

It is anticipated that crews will be on site Thursday August 16th to pave and complete restorations. Until that time Vehicular Traffic will continue to be effected.
