It's Time to Complete Your Census!
Statistic Canada’s 2021 Census is now underway! Every five years, Canadians get the opportunity to help define our diverse population and the communities we live in.

Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the Census Program has been adapted to make sure you can participate in the safest and most secure way possible. You can fill out your census questionnaire online today without pre-registration or lengthy downloads.

Why is completing the census important? Information collected is used by the City of Timmins in a variety of ways. It informs public policy and the planning of schools, hospitals, child care centres, and family services. Municipal programs like public transportation, sustainable development, and environmental goals are influenced by census data. Your answers help reflect how Timmins is changing.

Timmins Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) uses the census to track socioeconomic trends in order to help local business and our economy grow.

“The TEDC uses Census information to attract businesses to our community, to help local firms with market research and assist us when completing government funding applications. All these purposes are beneficial for Timmins and therefore we encourage everyone to complete the Census forms when they come out,” says Fred Gibbons, Chair of Timmins Economic Development Corporation.

You can complete the questionnaire today online at https://census.gc.ca/index-eng.htm. For more information, call the Census Help Line toll-free at: 1-855-340-2021.

You are included in the census if you are a Canadian citizen by birth or naturalization, a landed immigrant, or a non-permanent resident (a person with a work or student visa, or who has claimed refugee status).
