NOTICE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION AND PUBLIC MEETING RE: PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Timmins will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. to gather public input regarding a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O 1990, c. P. 13, as amended.

Location: 80 Bruce Avenue, Plan M-14-S, Part Lot 77, Parcel 12677 WAT, Tisdale Township, City of Timmins

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the subject lands currently zoned General Commercial (EA-CG) to General Commercial (EA-CG) SP6.176 to permit all uses in the General Commercial zone and to allow a total of three residential units in the building, with two units located on the main floor and one unit on the second floor, and to reduce the required number of parking spaces for the three residential units from four to zero.

This public meeting will be held in a virtual forum with electronic participation.

If you wish to provide oral comments at the virtual public meeting, please register in advance by emailing the City Clerk at steph.palmateer@timmins.ca or calling Service Timmins at 705-264-1331 during regular office hours prior to Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 12:00 noon. Once you register, you will be provided information from the Clerk’s Department on how to make your submission at the virtual public meeting with electronic participation.

To participate in the virtual public meeting, you will need access to a computer with internet service or a telephone.

If you wish to make a written submission concerning this matter, it should be directed to the Planning Division, City of Timmins, 220 Algonquin Boulevard East, Timmins, Ontario, P4N 1B3, telephone number 705-360-2624 or via email at planning@timmins.ca

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, however, advance registration is required.

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Council of the City of Timmins to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Timmins before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the City of Timmins before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

If you wish to be notified of the decision of the City of Timmins on the proposed zoning by-law amendment, you must make a written request to Steph Palmateer, City Clerk, City of Timmins, 220 Algonquin Boulevard East, Timmins, Ontario, P4N 1B3.
