Addressing Concerns with Life Labs 
Ongoing concerns with Life Labs has come to the attention of the Mayor.  After being contacted by several residents regarding their concerns, the Mayor has reached out to Life Labs directly.  After speaking with the Manager of Northeastern Ontario, we would like to address the following steps that Life Labs has agreed to undertake: 

Appointments will be scheduled for up to 2 people every 5 minutes
Staffing will be increased from 6 staff to 8
A new manager has been hired
Hours of operation will be extended from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Hours of operation will now be from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm by mid-March
Staff have been added to address at-home services
There will be staff on-site who can schedule appointments for those that do not have internet access

“Hearing of the recent concerns with Life Labs did not sit well with me and I knew we had to engage in conversation with Life Labs,” said Mayor Pirie.  “Waiting upwards of three weeks for an appointment could be a matter of life and death and that is not good enough for the residents of Timmins.  After speaking with the Northeastern Ontario Manager, I feel confident that our concerns were heard and proactive steps will be taken to better improve their services.”
