Reduced Loads in Effect (1)
Effective Thursday, March 11, 2021, the Public Works Department would like to advise motorists that the Reduced Load by-law is in effect until further notice.

By-law No 2006-6275 states that “commercial motor vehicles and trailers, other than public vehicles operated over or upon any portion of the highways and streets named or described in Schedule A to this by-law, are subject to the provisions of Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act RSO 1990 Chapter H 8 as amended.”

The by-law is imperative in protecting sensitive road infrastructure. It serves to regulate the loads of commercial motor vehicles and trailers on certain highways and streets within the City of Timmins when the roads are approaching a condition of compromise. This by-law is in effect where applicable signs have been installed and are on display.

The by-law (https://timmins.civicweb.net/filepro/documents/258?preview=7545) provides a list of roads under Schedule A. Road affected have also been identified on www.municipal511.ca The City of Timmins is committed to advising the public when this restriction is lifted, on or before June 15.
