City Hall Lights up Blue to Support Our Doctors

City Hall will be bathed in blue light this Saturday, May 1, 2021 to commemorate Doctor’s Day as Timmins joins the provincewide “Shine a Light” campaign in honour and appreciation of our doctors.

Now in its 10th year, Doctor’s Day has grown into a movement with thousands of people across Ontario raising a light as an act of thanks. Landmarks across the province like the CN tower turn blue in thank you for the dedication and sacrifice doctors make, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) encourages us to #ShineALightForThem this Saturday night at 9 p.m. by turning on our phone’s flashlight and holding it up to symbolize “finding a way in the dark” – something Ontario’s doctors do as they put themselves at risk to help us stay safe and healthy.
