Help the City of Timmins Adapt to Climate Change
The City of Timmins is working on a community climate change adaptation plan and is seeking feedback from our residents, businesses and organizations. It’s as simple as filling out a quick online survey and sharing any current initiatives being undertaken or ideas that the City can implement to become climate resilient.

What is a “Climate Change Adaption Plan”? Adaption focuses on longer term planning and responding to the effects of climate change. Our goal is to increase knowledge and awareness of climate change, its impacts, and improve our ability to adapt to climate change across municipal departments and within the community.

How can we learn to be proactive and adapt to climate change? Adaptation can take many different forms including research and monitoring, addressing climate change risks, and putting operations and practices in place that allow the community to be responsive to changing climate concerns.

By filling out our online survey, you’ll be helping the City of Timmins identify the climate goals and objectives that are a priority for you. As a local business or organization, you may already have practices in place that promote being adaptive to climate change. Your feedback is important in our initial planning process. Our “Climate Change Action Survey” is available online at Timmins.ca/our_services/city_hall/environment_sustainability.

The City of Timmins is working in partnership with ICLEI Canada, a non-profit organization that specializes in climate action, including adaptation. The work is being supported by ICLEI Canada’s Advancing Adaptation program. Survey results will be collected until January 3, 2022.
