Effective June 11, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., the Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) will enforce some Shutdown-level restrictions to minimize the person-to-person interactions that are fuelling uncontrolled transmission of COVID-19, including the new delta variant, within our communities.
The PHU anticipates that these continued Shutdown-level restrictions will remain in effect for no longer than the next two weeks until June 25, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. Regular assessment of the region's progress against key pubic health and health system indicators will be made and reported publicly.
For further clarity, the following restrictions remain in place:
- Indoor organized public events and social gatherings are restricted, except with the people in your immediate household. Limited outdoor gatherings to 5 people and maintain physical distancing.
- Restrictions against in-person shopping in most retail settings continue. Curbside pickup and delivery continues.
- Supermarkets, grocery stores, and similar stores that primarily sell food, and pharmacies will continue to operate at 25 percent capacity for in-store shopping.
- Restrictions remain in effect for indoor and outdoor dining at restaurants. Restaurants, bars, and other food or drink establishments can continue to operate take out, drive-through, and delivery only.
