Connecting Link - Segment 6

Algonquin Blvd. West from Theriault Blvd. to Mountjoy St. (Segment 6 of the Connecting Link Project) is the second downtown segment scheduled for reconstruction.

Work on Segment 6 of the Connecting Link includes full-depth reconstruction of the roadway, replacement of underground services like water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer, and pole relocation.

Estimated construction cost for Segment 6 is $8.9M. The construction duration is expected to be from June to November 2022.

The work will be extensive and, as construction proceeds, all local traffic and cyclists will be re-routed along two detour routes heading north and south from Algonquin Blvd. West. Commercial trucks will be redirected along Lafleur Rd. connecting to 655.

Once construction begins, detour signs will be clearly visible. We are asking motorists to proceed with caution when traveling through any and all construction areas to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Please anticipate delays.

The Timmins Connecting Link is one of the largest in the province, including just over 21 km of highway. It is funded through the Ministry of Transportation's Connecting Link Program, which helps municipalities repair their roadways and bridges that connect two ends of a provincial highway through a community or to a border crossing.
