City of Timmins 2022 Spring Clean Up Program

 

What’s happening for 2022?

The City of Timmins is providing a Spring Clean Up Program in 2022.  The start dates for the collection of “spring clean up material” will begin from Tuesday, May 24, 2022 to Friday, June 3, 2022.  Check the detailed schedule posted below and on the City of Timmins website at www.timmins.ca

What are the rules for Spring Clean Up 2022?

Residents participating in the spring clean up program are required to comply with the following requirements approved by Council. 

1. Volume of material to be collected per residence is limited to no more than a standard HALF (½) pick-up truck cab or approximately 60 cubic feet (1.6 cu. M)

Materials which will NOT be collected:

  • Concrete and asphalt
  • Batteries of any type
  • Tires 
  • Propane Tanks
  • Recyclables
  • Textiles
  • Electronics
  • Steel or mixed metal
  • White goods or anything with Freon
  • Paints, Liquids, Fuel, Chemicals or any Hazardous Waste
  • Any material in a black garbage bag
2. Clear bags only: any material that is placed in a bag must be in a clear bag only. Black garbage bags will not be collected. 

3. When will collection crews go by:  Collection crews will only do one (1) pass through an area. Please see the schedule for more details. 

4. When do I put my material out: Residents are to have their material at the curb no more than two (2) days prior to their collection day.

5. All containers (cans/recycle boxes) with waste will be collected with the waste.  Do not put out containers (i.e. garbage bins) with the Spring Clean Up Pile unless you want to get rid of the container;

6. What happens if material is not acceptable: Material not in compliance with the guidelines will not be collected. The resident will be required to remove such material from the street within 48 hours. 

7. Are Leaves and Yard Waste acceptable: Yes leaves and yard waste are acceptable. Please ensure that all lawn and leaf waste is bagged in compostable bags. DO NOT BAG IN REGULAR PLASTIC BAGS. 

8. MATTRESSES and BOX SPRINGS: All Mattresses and Box Springs MUST be securely wrapped in plastic in order to be picked up. NOTE: this is a Health and Safety issue.

       • May 24, 2022 - All areas North of Ross & Jubilee, Starting at Airport Road and working Eastward to HWY 655

       • May 26, 2022 - All areas North of Algonquin Blvd and South of Jubilee & Ross, Starting at Gilles Lake and working West to Domtar

       • May 30, 2022 - All areas South of Algonquin Blvd, starting at Mattagami River, working Eastward

        • May 24, 2022 - Starting on Legion Drive  heading Easterly including South Porcupine and Connaught Hill up to Ferguson

        • May 26, 2022 - All of Schumacher through Gold Centre and all of the Back Road  (Delnite, MacDonald Hill, Buffalo Ankerite)

        • June 2, 2022 - Starting  at Ferguson (Pottsville) heading  Easterly through Porcupine, Bob’s Lake, Connaught and Barber’s Bay
