Water Control for Connecting Link Segment 13 – Environmental Service – May 7, 2026

The City of Timmins, Environmental Services Department, wishes to advise the public of scheduled water control testing for Connecting Link Segment 13 construction within the following area: South Porcupine Area: • Highway 101 E. between Bristol Rd. and Ruth St. Date and Time of Disruption: • May 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Once shutdown, and if testing is successful, the water will only be “OFF” for 10 to 15 minutes. Once control is confirmed, water will be restored to normal. This work is being done to prepare for construction on Segment 13 of the Connecting Link. Environmental Services is testing the water valves to ensure they can get proper control for upcoming work. An update will be provided once a construction start time has been confirmed. During the date and time of the disruption, homeowners and businesses may experience short-term loss in water and pressure, or experience brown or rust-coloured water. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with the discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn off your tap for 10-20 minutes in order to allow crews to finish. Once the work is completed, turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water colour has returned to normal. Evelyn Township Landfill – Temporary Closure Please be advised that the Environmental Services Department is informing residents that the Evelyn Township Landfill will remain closed due to excessive snow accumulation, which has made access to the site unsafe and impractical. The site was reassessed on Monday, May 4, 2026, and will remain closed until May 11, 2026, at which time it will be reassessed again. We understand this may cause inconvenience and updates will be provided as soon as access is possible, and it is safe to reopen. Address: 5121 Highway 101 East Start date: April 14, 2026 Start time: 10:30 PM End date: April 19, 2026 End time: 11:55 PM Volume by-passed: 3811.64 m3 Municipal wastewater consists of 99% water from stormwater and homes/businesses from washing, flushing etc. When a treatment plant or treatment process is overwhelmed, a bypass or overflow can occur. These events are often caused by heavy rainfall and/or snowmelt. During a by-pass or overflow, partially treated wastewater is diverted away from a treatment process to prevent backups, overflows or damage to the system. Residents can help by conserving water by delaying or limiting unnecessary usage such as laundry, taking long showers or running the dishwasher during rain storms. Watermain Break Repair – Environmental Service – April 20, 2026

The City of Timmins, Environmental Services Department wishes to advise the public of Watermain Break Repair within the following area: Timmins North: • Melrose Blvd between Westmount Blvd to Victoria Ave (East side of the street) • Dieppe St between Westmount Blvd to Victoria Ave (West side of the street) Date and Time of Disruption: • April 20, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Homeowners and businesses within the notification area may experience short-term loss in water & pressure or experience brown or rust-coloured water during the disruption. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with the discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn off your tap for 10-20 minutes in order to allow the crew to finish. Once the work is completed, turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water colour has returned to normal. Environmental Service Department would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this emergency work.
