The City of Timmins, Environmental Services Department wishes to advise the public of a scheduled watermain break repair affecting the following area: Timmins North: • Murray St., between Hart St. to the Children's Playground on Murray St. Date and Time of Disruption: • September 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Homeowners and businesses within the notification area may experience short-term loss in water pressure or experience brown or rust-coloured water during the disruption. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with the discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn off your tap for 10-20 minutes in order to allow the crew to finish the activity. The City of Timmins Environmental Services Department wishes to advises all users west of the Mattagami River Bridge that the precautionary boil water advisory issued on Sept. 2, 2026, has been lifted. The City of Timmins has conducted the required water sampling and the results have been reviewed and deemed satisfactory by both the City and Northeastern Public Health. The precautionary Boil Water Advisory was issued following a watermain break that caused temporary loss of water service and water pressure to users west of the Mattagami River Bridge. The advisory remained in effect until two consecutive sets of drinking water samples confirmed that the water met all required safety standards. City staff would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation.

The City of Timmins and Northeastern Public Health have issued a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for all users west of the Mattagami River Bridge, effective September 2, 2026, as soon as water has been restored. A Precautionary Boil Water Advisory was declared due to the loss of water pressure in the system resulting from a watermain break. A boil water advisory requires you to take the following steps: Bring your water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes, including drinking, making infant formula and juices, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice; Wash dishes with boiled water that has been cooled or use potable water from an alternative source; and, All water taps must be posted, indicating that the water is not safe to drink. The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until the City obtains satisfactory drinking water results in two consecutive sets of samples taken a minimum of 24 hours apart. Mattagami Water Pollution Control Plant Maintenance - Environmental Service - August 17, 2026

Planned maintenance will take place at the Mattagami Water Pollution Control Plant to facilitate draining, cleaning, and refilling of the chlorine contact tank. This work is required to remove the solids on the bottom of the tank and to remove the growth of algae and moss on the tank walls. While this will temporarily reduce the chlorine contact time, chlorine will continue to be added to the final effluent, and we do not expect significant impacts on the final disinfection process. The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks have been notified, and samples will be collected. Temporary Lane Reductions - Ross Ave. at Toke St.

The City of Timmins, Public Works Dept., wishes to advise the public of scheduled road infrastructure enhancements happening on Ross Ave. at the intersection of Toke St. Work has begun to extend the curbs and install a raised median as part of improvements to the community safety zone area on Ross Ave. A curb extension narrows the road section, helping to regulate and reduce traffic speeds. There is no impact to the existing pedestrian crossing. The addition of the curb extensions and raised median creates a safe space for pedestrians and improves visibility. As a result, reduction of the four lanes east of the Toke intersection will start further back on Ross Ave. Work will require temporary lane reductions. Once complete, a dedicated left-turn lane for westbound traffic will be available for Toke St. Bylaw 2025-9107 was approved on April 8, 2025 to create a Community Safety Zone on Ross Ave. from Patricia Blvd. to Hwy. 655. A Community Safety Zone is a designated section of roadway where public safety is a top priority.

Timmins, ON – City of Timmins Public Works advises residents that temporary traffic restrictions will be in place on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to allow crews to complete crosswalk and stop bar painting. The following traffic restrictions will be in place: • Jubilee Avenue will be closed between Theriault Boulevard and University Street to facilitate stop bar and crosswalk painting. • The Airport Road ramp to Theriault Boulevard will be closed to allow crews to complete pedestrian crosswalk painting. Motorists are asked to obey all posted signage, exercise caution when travelling through the work zones, and use alternate routes where possible. We thank you for your cooperation and patience while this work is being completed.
