Timmins Transit

Service Announcement:

Free Student Bus Rides: While winter snow removal continues, students under 18 can ride for FREE. Hop on a Timmins Transit bus Monday to Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to get to and from school.

Here’s how it works:

  • Parents, guardians, or students with a valid student ID can pick up a reloadable transit bus card at the Transit Terminal (Spruce St. S.)
  • Download the FREE Transit app and plan your ride, add your school, and find the best route from your home to class.

Already have a student bus card? No problem! Our system has been updated and students under 18 now ride free.

How long are rides free? We’re working with the school board to get buses back on the road. Once all routes resume, regular student fares will apply.

New Fares: A new user fee By-Law 2025-9260 has come into effect as of January 1, 2026, which means new bus fares for monthly passes, 10-ride tickets, and day passes for conventional and paratransit bus travel. See FARES

Municipal user fees are charges people pay when they use certain public services, like public transit. Your bus fare helps recover some of the cost of delivering bus service.

Welcome Aboard!
