Municipal Parking Lot Permits (General Permit Parking)

Lot Permits can be purchased online or at Service Timmins in City Hall.

Parking lot permits entitle the vehicle to park in various municipal parking lots, with the following exceptions:  

  • Overnight parking with a parking permit is not permitted.
  • Cedar South Lot and El-Mar Lot are strictly Pay/Display, or APP time only.
  • Monthly parking lot permits are not valid for on-street parking.
  • Fire Hall lot in its entirety is not available to City of Timmins Parking Permit holders.

2023 Parking Permit Rates in accordance with  City of Timmins By-Law 2020-8488 are as follows:  

  • 30 Day General Permit: $60.00 + HST = $67.80 
  • 90 Day General Permit:  $180.00 + HST = $203.40  
  • 180 Day General Permit: $360.00 + HST = $406.80   
  • 365 Day (Yearly) - General Permit:  $900.00 + HST = $1,017.00 

Valid in the following municipal lots: Spruce N. Lot, Algonquin Lot (designated areas only), Third Ave. Lot, Pine S. Lot, Library Lot, and Coalition Lot.

  • Knox Lot Yearly Permit:  $300.00 + HST = $339.00
  •  Knox Lot Monthly:  $25.00 + HST = $28.25

Valid exclusively in the Knox Parking Lot, from January through December of each calendar year.

Senior Permits

Senior 30-Day Permit: $15.00 + HST = $16.95  

Senior 90-Day Permit:  $45.00+ HST = $50.85 

Senior 180-Day Permit: $90.00 + HST = $101.70

Permits may be purchased in-person at Service Timmins.  A valid membership to the Timmins Senior Center must be presented at time of purchase. Valid exclusively in either the Library or Coalition parking lots.

 

Visitor Permits

Visitor Permits are issued at the Timmins Convention Bureau and Visitor Welcome Centre located at the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre at 325 Second Ave.

Also available at the following lodging and accommodation participants:  Microtel Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Cedar Meadows, Super 8, Balsam Suites, Hampton Inn, Ramada Inn, Days Inn, Rustic Cottage, or Comfort Inn.

The visitor permit entitles the vehicle to park – at no charge – in the various lots (see list above) as well as at on-street parking meters, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9am and 5pm. The permit must be visibly displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle to which the permit was issued.
