PUBLIC WORKS DECLARES SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT

Timmins, ON – City of Timmins Public Works is declaring a Significant Weather Event under the provisions of the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways (O.Reg 239).

Due to the winter storm warning and the amount of snow and freezing rain forecasted, we are anticipating delays in the plowing of some city streets and roads along with most city sidewalks. Resources will be deployed when deemed appropriate.

We are asking residents to avoid driving today if at all possible for their own safety.
We also remind residents not to block or plug sidewalks when clearing their own driveways.

A reminder that the Winter Parking Ban is in effect and parking on the street is not permitted on any day, between the hours of 11:30 pm to 7:30 am, from November 1 through April 30.

We thank you for your cooperation in this matter. An additional notice will be posted to declare the end of the Significant Weather Event when the municipality determines is it appropriate to do so.
