The City of Timmins, Environmental Services Department wishes to advise the public of scheduled Water infrastructure maintenance activity within the following area:

South Porcupine:
Young between Rekela and Florence will experience no water, loss of pressure and may have some discolored water.

Date and Time of Disruption:
June 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Homeowners and businesses within the notification area may experience short-term loss in water pressure or experience brown or rust-coloured water during the disruption. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with the discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn off your tap for 10-20 minutes in order to allow the crew to finish. Once the work is completed, turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water colour has returned to normal.

Environmental Service Department would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this emergency work.

The City of Timmins would like to inform residents that the Timmins Recyclepedia App has been discontinued effective June 1, 2026.

As part of Ontario's transition to producer responsibility for recycling, Circular Materials is responsible for residential recycling collection in Timmins. To help residents access recycling information and collection reminders, Circular Materials has developed a mobile app that offers many of the same convenient features that were previously available through Recyclepedia.

With the Circular Materials app, residents can:

  • Review what materials belong in their recycling bin
  • Sign up for collection reminders and notifications
  • Stay informed about recycling services in their area

Download the Circular Materials app today.

Reduced load restrictions for commercial motor vehicles and trailers will be lifted as of Friday, June 1, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. on applicable roads within the city of Timmins.

By-law 2006-6275 governs seasonal load restrictions to protect our roads and highways during the spring thaw, when damage is most likely to happen. Typically, reduced load restrictions are in place until early June and are subject to the provisions of Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act RSO 1990 Chapter H 8. The by-law provides a list of the applicable roads under Schedule A.

Load restrictions have also been placed on some specific roads year-round. Please refer to By-law 2022-8708 for a list of roads.
