City of Timmins, Environmental Services & Public Utilities Department, wishes to advise the public of an emergency watermain repair in the following area.
Timmins Area: Residents west of the Mattagami River, impacting Mountjoy area.
Date and Time of Disruption: September 2, 2026, 2:30 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m.
All homes and businesses in the affected area could have no water, low water pressure, or coloured water.
Potable water is available at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex to refill reusable bottles or containers. City staff are on-site to assist.
Once repairs are made, if you experience discoloured water, it is advised to turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the colour has returned to normal. It is not recommended to drink or wash laundry with the discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry.
City staff would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this work.
