The City of Timmins Public Works Department would like to advise the public that a city-wide snow plowing operation is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 12:01 am. The operation is expected to continue throughout the evening and into the weekend.

Multiple crews will be deployed at various times over the weekend in response to forecasted snowfall and ice pellet accumulations of 15 to 25 cm.

Due to equipment and staffing shortages all streets will not be completed at the same time. Crews will be deployed as available to plow city streets, rural roads, laneways and parking lots across the city.

We would also like to remind the public that the Winter Parking Ban is in effect. Parking on the street is not permitted on any day between the hours of 11:30 pm to 7:30 am, from November 1 through April 30.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.

The City of Timmins, Environmental Services Department wishes to advise the public of Watermain Break Repair within the following area:

Porcupine:
Haileybury Cres. between Carlos Ave to Lovers Ln.

Date and Time of Disruption:
April 2, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

Homeowners and businesses within the notification area may experience short-term loss in water & pressure or experience brown or rust-coloured water during the disruption. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with the discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn off your tap for 10-20 minutes in order to allow the crew to finish. Once the work is completed, turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water colour has returned to normal.

Environmental Service Department would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this emergency work.

The City of Timmins has introduced a new and convenient way for residents and businesses to connect with Service Timmins. Service Timmins Chat is a live chat feature that is now available on both www.timmins.ca and service.timmins.ca, providing fast, accessible support directly from the City’s webpage or customer service portal.

Service Timmins Chat can be accessed by clicking the icon located in the bottom right corner of the page. With a single click, users can expand the chat window and begin a conversation with a Service Timmins representative in real time. Live chat interactions are managed alongside incoming phone calls in a priority sequence during regular Service Timmins business hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This new feature is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to modernizing services and improving customer experience. A soft launch of Service Timmins Chat began on March 16, allowing staff to test and refine the system. Since that time, more than 220 inquiries have already been received through the platform.

With Service Timmins Chat, users can get help while working or managing other tasks. Live chat helps reduce barriers related to language, hearing, or mobility challenges, and may feel less intimidating than in-person or phone interactions. Unlike phone conversations, live chat provides a transcript that can be saved, allowing residents to review information after the call.

For more information or to start a conversation, visit www.timmins.ca and service.timmins.ca.
