The City of Timmins’ swimming pool at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex will be closed August 1 to September 8, 2026, for annual maintenance.
The scheduled closure allows crews to complete required upkeep on the pool such as mechanical and equipment servicing, painting, and facility inspections to help ensure the pool remains safe, reliable, and ready for the next year.
During the closure, contractors will also be installing the new rock-climbing wall, funded in part by the City’s 2025 recognition as Ontario’s Most Active Community, ParticipACTION recipient.
The maintenance period is scheduled during the summer when pool attendance is typically lower and residents have access to local beaches. Gillies Lake Beach is open with lifeguards on duty seven days a week from 12:00 - 8:00 p.m.
