The City of Timmins and Northeastern Public Health have issued a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for all users west of the Mattagami River Bridge, effective September 2, 2026, as soon as water has been restored.

A Precautionary Boil Water Advisory was declared due to the loss of water pressure in the system resulting from a watermain break.

A boil water advisory requires you to take the following steps:

• Bring your water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes, including drinking, making infant formula and juices, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice;
• Wash dishes with boiled water that has been cooled or use potable water from an alternative source; and,
• All water taps must be posted, indicating that the water is not safe to drink.

The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until the City obtains satisfactory drinking water results in two consecutive sets of samples taken a minimum of 24 hours apart.
