The City of Timmins Environmental Services Department wishes to advise the public of a planned water service disruption affecting the following area:

• Mountjoy. All water customers west of the Mattagami River Bridge

Date & Time of Disruption:

• Starting Sept 24, 2026 – 10:00 p.m. to approximately 12:01 a.m. Sept. 25, 2026
• Work may be extended if more time is required for testing

During this time, customers may experience:

• Temporary loss of water
• Discoloured water
• Air in the pipes (sputtering or spitting when taps are opened)

Immediately following the work, a Precautionary Boil Water advisory will be in effect for all properties west of the Mattagami River Bridge. The advisory is being coordinated with Northeastern Public Health (NEPH) and will remain in place until satisfactory drinking water results are obtained in two consecutive sets of samples taken a minimum of 24 hours apart.

When water is service is restored, residents may notice discoloured water. If this occurs, run the cold-water tap closest to the source (typically a laundry tub) for 15 to 10 minutes or until the water runs clear. Once clear, any water intended for consumption should still be boiled while the precautionary boil water advisor remains in effect.
