Service Updates:

Paratransit Service is now available through the Timmins Transit On-Demand smartphone app . The new app makes booking an accessible ride fast and convenient.

Paratransit users can request and pay for shared-ride, curb-to-curb service through the app. The app eliminates the need for advanced booking and provides real-time trip notifications, making it easier to plan travel.

The paratransit service area is also being expanded, with service to Timmins Victor M. Power Airport, Mount Jamieson Resort, and more.

This is a website version of the Timmins Transit On-Demand app. You can plan, book, confirm, and pay for your ride.

Timmins Transit On-Demand is a door to door transportation service for persons with permanent or short-term disabilities, which prevent them from being able to use Timmins Transit's regular, fixed-route transit service.

Passengers must be registered to use the service, and reservations are required.

Who May Use Timmins Transit On-Demand

Persons, who because of their mobility impairment, are unable to use the regular transit service. The eligibility guidelines state that this transit service is intended for persons who are physically unable to climb or descend steps, or who are unable to walk a distance of 175 meters.

How to Apply for Timmins Transit On-Demand Service

If you wish to apply for Timmins Transit On-Demand service, you must obtain and complete an application form. The form is available from Timmins Transit at 54 Spruce Street South, or by calling 360-2600 ext 3504.

Once completed, the application should be returned to:

An Eligibility Committee will review the application and if approved, you will be advised in writing.

Reservations

Trips may be booked up to two weeks in advance. Passengers should be prepared to be flexible when making booking requests. Call 360-2600 ex. 3504 for more information. 

Hours of Service

Timmins Transit On-Demand service is provided during the following hours:

Monday to Friday: 6:30 am to 11:30 pm
Saturday: 6:30 am to 11:30 pm
Sunday:8:30 am to 7:30 pm

No service on Statutory Holidays

The Timmins Transit On-Demand office is located at 54 Spruce Street South and is open during the following hours:

Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 pm. Closed Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays
