Strategic Priority 4 of the Plan emphasizes that there is a shared responsibility and effort required to improve the safety and belongingness of all residents while in our homes, at work, and in the community. All residents have the right to feel safe, without fear or risk of harm or injury.
Community safety and security is not only the responsibility of our local police service. It involves the community coming together to better understand our strengths, challenges, and responsibilities in order to take collective and impactful action. This means developing and implementing strategic initiatives that engage diverse groups in meaningful ways.
Lead Action Table:
The City of Timmins Shared Safety and Well-Being Committee will be responsible for the targeted outcomes below. First meeting is scheduled in April 2023.
