The City of Timmins continues to explore potential upgrades to Leo Del Villano Park, and is asking for the community's feedback.
The proposed improvements include the addition of a regulation cricket field, enhanced washroom facilities with change rooms, and the relocation of the existing tennis courts to accommodate court upgrades and new pickleball courts. The existing baseball diamond and soccer field are not part of the proposed changes and will remain available for community use.
These suggested upgrades were developed by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department and align with recommendations outlined in the City’s approved 10-Year Recreation Master Plan. In total, the proposed improvements respond to over ten strategic recommendations from the plan.
Your Feedback is Needed
Near neighbours living within an 800 meter radius of the park will have a notice delivered to their door with an online survey link. Notices are being delivered between Thursday, July 17 and Friday, July 18, 2025. The survey will take 2-3 minutes to complete.
This survey is for residents who live nearby and are most likely to use the park regularly. Their input helps ensure that upgrades and amenities meet actual community needs. They can also offer insight into how improvements might impact daily life.
If you live within 800 meters of Leo Del Villano Park and did not receive a notice as of July 21, 2025, email: [email protected].
A public survey is also available that will help inform future decision making on community destination parks that offer new and diverse recreational opportunities. We encourage all residents to fill out the survey and have your say in how this important green space is used. The survey will take 2-3 minutes to complete.

Surveys close at 4:30 p.m. on June 30, 2025.
