Admissions and Supervision:
- Children 0–6: Must be accompanied in the water by a guardian and remain within arm’s reach.
- Children 7–10:
o Non-swimmers must remain within arm’s reach of a guardian.
o Swimmers who pass the Facility Swim Test may swim independently.
- Ages 11+: May swim unsupervised; swimming with a buddy is recommended.
- Guardians must be 14 years or older.
Health and Safety:
- Shower before entering the pool.
- Outdoor footwear is not permitted in shower areas.
- Proper bathing attire is required; street clothes are not allowed.
- Non-toilet trained participants must wear leak-proof swim diapers or plastic pants.
- Pool fouling incidents may result in closures of up to 24 hours
Change Rooms:
- Children 8 years and older must use the change room that aligns with their gender.
- Universal change rooms and alternative accommodations are available upon request.
Equipment and Amenities:
- Personal equipment is limited to basic swim items (e.g., kickboards, fins, PFDs).
- Equipment availability is at staff discretion.
- Saunas are available during Open and Adult Swims only.
Accessibility:
The City of Timmins is committed to inclusive and accessible aquatics. Adaptations and support persons are welcome. Accommodation requests can be made through the City’s Individual Accommodations Form.
Programs and Refunds:
- Programs require minimum enrollment and may be cancelled by the City. Full refunds or transfers will be provided.
- Withdrawals before a program starts receive a refund less a $25 administration fee.
- Withdrawals after a program begins are prorated based on remaining classes.
- Private lessons and leadership courses require 14 days’ notice for a refund.
- Online payment errors (e.g., duplicate charges) will be refunded within 30 days once verified.
Pool Rentals:
- Full payment is required at booking.
- A minimum of 14 days’ notice is required for cancellations or changes.
- Rentals are a minimum of 1 hour.
- Additional lifeguards are required based on attendance.
