Algonquin Blvd. E from Brunette Rd. to Hwy. 655 (approximately 700m) is Segment 9 of the Connecting Link and is scheduled for reconstruction in 2026. This is a priority section due to the condition of the asphalt and aging infrastructure. The reconstruction includes a short section of watermain and storm main upgrades at Brunette Rd., select underground infrastructure upgrades of water and storm, surface works (remove existing surface material and install new asphalt, curbs, sidewalks, and traffic medians), traffic signal replacement at Brunette and Hwy. 655 intersections, and streetlight upgrades to meet current standards.
Work requires lane reductions only with phased traffic control plans. Access to all business / properties will be maintained.
Segment 9 is part of a two-year Connecting Link contract will work extending to Father Costello Dr. E. in 2027.
