Community Climate Change Adaptation Plan

The City of Timmins is preparing for climate change across all municipal departments and in the community. We are building awareness of climate risks and how to respond, so that we can stay strong and resilient.

We know that climate change is already affecting our community and City operations. To respond, we are promoting more sustainable practices through planning, risk assessment, waste diversion, and with our work as a Bee City.

This Community Climate Change Adaptation Plan was developed with support from ICLEI Canada. City staff and community members worked together to create it. The Plan sets clear goals and actions to reduce climate impacts and build resilience. It includes 10 goals and 26 actions.

Building a resilient and sustainable community takes teamwork. We will continue to work with residents, partners, and local groups to put this Plan into action.
