Guide to Government Services

Canada has three levels of government - federal, provincial, and municipal, each with its own elected representatives and specific areas of responsibility. All levels of government are responsible for service residents.

Federal Government: Government of Canada

Responsible for issues that affect the whole country, like national defense, citizenship and immigration, Canada Post, and the Bank of Canada.

Provincial Government: Government of Ontario

Responsible for education, colleges and universities, hospitals and healthcare, and issues where the province has been given exclusive power in Canada's constitution.

Municipal Government: City of Timmins

Responsible for services within City boundaries like zoning and land use, roads and infrastructure, property tax collection, and recreation.
