Boards and committees of council help inform local government and provide input on a variety of subjects. Members have valuable expertise and perspectives that help move priorities forward to best serve the community and support sustainable service planning.

Board and Committees:

Eligibility:

The following eligibility requirements apply only to Council-appointed boards and committees that include members of the public. Composition is outlined above for each individual board or committee. The requirements do not apply to boards or committees whose membership is limited to elected officials, other designated members, or have an independent application and approval process.

To serve on an advisory committee or board, you must be:

• A Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Timmins; or,
• A property or business owner in the city of Timmins; 
• A minimum of 18 years of age or older;
• Meet specific committee or board requirements.

Vacancy:

When a committee or board has a vacancy, the City of Timmins Clerks Dept. will advertise the occupancy for a minimum of two-weeks. Resumes or letters of interest received will be provided to the Mayor for review and recommendation. The recommendation will be brought to City Council for approval.
