Hazardous Waste Event

The City's Household Hazardous and Special Waste event is a great way for residents to properly dispose of their household hazardous and special waste.

**TEXTILE COLLECTION ADDED** - June 15 event will now include textile collection. Click on the link provided for a list of acceptable items.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Spruce Snow Dump on Spruce St.


Directions: take Pine Street S., then head east on Iroquois Road. Follow the one-way traffic to the drop-off point, exiting on Spruce Street South.

Please note that this event is for residents only. Commercial and industrial waste will not be accepted.

The following items will be collected:

  • Paint
  • Flammable/Misc. Organics
  • Aerosols
  • Single Use Batteries
  • Single Use Propane Cylinders and Refillable Propane Tanks
  • Oxidizers
  • Pesticides
  • Antifreeze
  • Oil Filters
  • Inorganic Acids and Bases
  • Fuel and Oil
  • Pathological Waste (sharps)
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Compact Fluorescents and Fluorescent Tubes
  • Household electronics. 

This is a set-up as a drive-thru event. You will not need to leave your car. Volunteers will remove your waste and be wearing full PPE.
