Get ready for the next municipal election by making sure you are on the voters' list. Please review if you are eligible to vote and the identification required to vote.

Who Can Vote

To vote in Timmins' municipal election, you must be:

  • a Canadian citizen
  • at least 18 years old at the time of election
  • a resident in the city of Timmins
  • a non-resident of Timmins and you or your spouse own or rent property in the city
  • not otherwise prohibited under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 or by law

You can only vote once in a municipal election. You must vote in the Ward that you are registered in as a voter on Election Day.

 

Identification Required to Vote In-Person

Bring your Voter Information Letter with you to vote in-person. You will need show one piece of identification that has your correct name and address in order to receive one ballot. Your Voter Information Letter is NOT a form of identification. You will need to show a valid Ontario driver's licence, Ontario health card, mortgage or rental agreement for your current property, or any other acceptable form of identification listed HERE.

 

Voters' List

All residents can use Elections Ontario's Voter Registration Site to verify that they are on the municipal Voter's List.  This is IMPORTANT if you have moved or changed address since the 2022 municipal election. Confirm, update, or add information.
