We're celebrating National AccessAbility Week May 31 - June 6, 2026!
This week is an opportunity to celebrate Canadians with all abilities, and raise awareness of the importance of accessibility and inclusion in our community and work places.
The City's Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee works to make sure our municipal services, facilities, and infrastructure is accessible. We have a variety of fun events planned for the week.

Accessible Public Transportation
Timmins Transit On-Demand is a door to door transportation service for persons with permanent or short-term disabilities, which prevent them from being able to use Timmins Transit's regular, fixed-route transit service.
Service is available through the Timmins On-Demand smartphone app for registered riders. No need for advanced bookings and an expanded service area, including the Timmins Victor M. Power Airport, make it even easier to plan travel.

Accessible Parks and Playgrounds
The City has been working to upgrade and enhance our parks and playgrounds with accessible amenities and structures. Both municipal splash pads feature a rubberized, anti-slip pad, accessible activation buttons, and balanced design.
In 2024, the City added an accessible playground to Roy Nicholson Park, with structures that encourage physical, sensory, and cognitive play. Lonergan Park offers accessible swings, Spillenaar Park in Porcupine offers an upgraded park and pad surface for play, and Melview Park in Porcupine is under construction with new sensory garden, quiet play areas, and natural play space
