Climate Safe Community

The City of Timmins’ Environment & Sustainability Division, under the Growth & Infrastructure Department, is actively working to finalize a Climate Safe Communities Toolkit. This initiative reflects the City’s commitment to equipping residents with the practical resources and strategies needed to navigate the growing challenges of climate change.

Building on the foundation of our Community Climate Change Adaptation Plan (CCAP), the Toolkit will offer targeted supports to help our community adapt and thrive.

As a preview, we’re pleased to share an infographic focused on reducing the risk of extreme heat—a growing concern in our region. We encourage everyone to share this resource widely: post it in community centres, distribute it in newsletters and bulletins, and incorporate it into classrooms and workshops. Together, we can foster a more climate-resilient Timmins through awareness, preparedness, and collective action.
