Project Details:
The City of Timmins has experienced six watermain breaks on the Airport Rd. water main over the past few years. Since this watermain is a main transmission line, these breaks have compromised the security of supply to the north end of the City. The 250m watermain which crosses the Mattagami River is the city’s oldest river crossing. This watermain was installed in 1967 and provides an alternate water supply to the Mountjoy Township.

This project will rehabilitate 1080m of the Airport Rd. transmission line, as well as 185m of the crossing. The City of Timmins watermain system consists of approximately 221,000 meters of watermains. To date, the City has lined 5,950m, which is only 2.7% of this buried infrastructure category.
