The City of Timmins By-law 2011-7067 defines the rules that apply when using Timmins Transit facilities (such as the terminal and shelters) and when riding on transit buses. The rules are meant for your protection and safety and that of our employees. See also, Respect and Responsibility Policy (R-Zone).
Rules of Etiquette:
Before you Board
- Arrive a few minutes early and have your fare, pass, or app ready.
- Line up, let riders exit first, and don't crowd the doors.
Seating and Space
- Offer priority seating to seniors, people with disabilities, pregnant riders, and parents with small children.
- Keep aisles clear - strollers, bags, and backpacks should be placed under your seat or on your lap.
- One seat per person. Don't block empty seats with belongings.
Noise and Courtesy
- Keep personal conversations low and use headphones. Remove audio from videos and games.
- Be respectful to drivers and fellow riders - no harassment, profanity, or disruptive behaviour.
Accessibility
- Wait for passengers using mobility devices to board and get seated first.
- Do not use priority seating areas if you do not need them.
- Keep doorways clear at stops.
