Not everything is accepted for recycling. This article identifies what
is acceptable in your Blue Box. If you have questions, please contact

What your Blue Box accepts:
- Newspapers, Magazines, Catalogues, Household Fine Paper. Including
inserts and glossy flyers. White and coloured writing and mailed paper,
photocopy paper and envelopes. Please no tissues.
- Metal Food and Beverage Containers. Steel and aluminum food and
beverage cans. Rinse and push lid into can. Please place loose in your
Blue Box.
- Glass Bottles and Jars. Food and beverage bottles and jars, clear and coloured. Remove lids and rinse. Place loose in Blue Box.
- Corrugated Cardboard. Layered cardboard boxes with a ripple between
the layers. Flatten and tie in bundles no larger than 24″ x 24″ x 12″.
- PET Plastic. Transparent clear or coloured plastic bottles including
2-litre soft drink bottles and juice bottles. Rinse and place in your
Blue Box. Look on the bottom of the container. Only put those plastic
containers in the Blue Box that has the recycling symbol with the
#1, #2, #4, #5, and #6. Please discard the caps.
- Boxboard. Cereal, detergent, and shoe boxes, cigarette packages,
clean pizza boxes, etc. Please remove liners and flatten and stuff
boxboard into another boxboard box.
What Does Your Blue Box Not Accept
- NO ceramics (drinking glasses, crystal, cups, etc.)
- NO full aerosol spray cans
- NO wrapping paper or ribbons
- NO live ammunition
- NO batteries
- NO diapers
Other Recycling Tips
- Always RINSE bottles, jars and cans. Please take off ALL lids and
dispose of them in your garbage. Labels do not have to be removed.
- DO NOT bag your cans and bottles. Please place your bottles and cans in your Blue Box.
- PLACE your Blue Box at least 1m to 2 ft from your garbage.
- Make use of the recycle depots at the Deloro Landfill, the Tisdale Landfill Site or the German Township Disposal Site
